Although I believe that a person should be judged by by his personality and not solely on looks I do believe that everyone has the right to see who they are talking to. I do not judge whether or not I will like a person according to the physical features but I do judge a potential husband by whether or not I am physically attracted to him. I can be a friend to someone I am not physically attracted to but I cannot be a wife to anyone I cannot feel attraction for. The initial attraction has to be there. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what looks good to someone else may not look so good to me but it always turns out in the end because I believe there is someone for everyone. If I do not find a man attractive then someone else will. So, I feel to be very honest that anyone on a site like this where people are suppose to be meeting for marriage there should be recent pictures posted. I consider pictures no older than two years to be recent. Anyone who thinks that the way a person looks is not important is only trying to fool themselves. It is an important component to a serious relationship. It may not be the biggest part but it is there. I think if someone will not post a picture that means they are not serious and are trying to hide something. I wonder how many men will not post a picture in fear that their wife may find out they are looking for another woman, and want to hide their identity and maybe a woman is doing the same. Yes people post false pictures and it is wrong but posting a recent true picture of yourself is important and should be done, whether you are nice looking or not does not matter, it shows you are serious and have confidence and in my opinion those two things are always attractive.

For God's sake, is it islamically correct for muslimahs to display their photos? For understanding sake, how do photos tell the personality of a person? For opportunity sake, some people may be deprived of the chance of being discovered what a wonderful person he or she really is just because others may not like their looks as a first impression, so they do not bother to correspond further. I read about a case where a member met up with someone and discovered that the photo she had uploaded was one that was taken when she was so much younger, whilst in reality she looked so different. Are photos that important at the beginning stage of friendship? I have a dear sweet friend and she is blind. She has told me often that though she has been deprived of sight, she has a picture of me in her mind. I am glad she understands my personality even though she could not see me or any of my photos. Btw, walls do not talk back. So even if i were to receive comments from someone without any photos displayed in his or her profile, at least i can be sure he/she is breathing and has a mind of his/her own.
