Falling in love is awfully simple. Falling out of love is simply awful........ Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; It dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.

Well jlseagull, must admit I am impressed by your insight, specially the part about recalling the attractions of the partner... But what if they've changed and the traits no longer exist or practised?

---- It dies with the absence of appreciation ---- It dies from taking each other for granted. ----- It dies from the loss of memory of the traits of the spouse that first captured our hearts. If appreciation exisited, it motivates the partners to know that their efforts would never go unnoticed. By not taking each other for granted, the couple will always be sensitive to each other's feelings and be better acquainted of the things that would hurt or thrill the other Recalling the attractions of the partner serves as a reminder that this person was unique in our eyes and that was why we pursued, and that was how we fell in love, so that is why we should work to keep and nurture the Love that made us willing to give up our singlehood previously. ---- But it requires the efforts and conviction of BOTH parties in this same goal, because trying to clap with just one hand, produces no sound; which would eventually lead to a silent world, void of Love!

So True...that is why attitude is what make the difference in a person. Communication can happen if both parties are willling to make it work. Like it takes two to tango and two hands to clap. Winning an argument for the sake of winning actually makes us losers in the end.....we lose a relationship. Arguments are bound to happen in a relationship but what helps is the ability to forgive and try as best to forget (tho' this is not easy) and look ahead, not backwards. The worse is to be a "grave digger" where past conflicts are always brought up and given a fresh coat of paint...
