My reason for leaving Islam is very simple. I simply read the Quran. For me it was as easy as just reading the Quran and using a little reason, logic, and thinking.
I thought the story of the Noah's Ark that is recorded in the Quran is one of the most bizarre stories I have ever heard. Apparently the world was run over by water and the only survivors were the people who had followed Noah. Noah apparently had the ability to communicate with animals to ask them to come aboard the ship, so that their species do not extinct.
Back then the early Arabs looked around themselves and they saw a few camels and a couple of dogs and they thought that these are all the animals in the world. They were unaware of the fact that there are over a billions species in the world and some that haven't even been discovered yet. What about the animals that did not live in Arabia? Did Noah fly on a winged horse like Muhammad, to go and collect the animals from all around the world? What about the species that we are unable to see without a microscope? How did Noah collect them? Most importantly in the research of earth-biology we have discovered all the facts about the earth and its past. Can anyone find in any book of earth-biology any evidence that proves that the earth was once over taken by water?
This was enough for me to realize that the Quran is just a book of fables.

Pain is a reformer a type of review a system to establish, Pain is a preacher whatever it may be he speaks the truth,
Pain in a state of disbelief and pride because of that deaf, dumb and blind as he may complain, as he may forsake! He says is unjust! He is weak enough to make.
Pain! When he accepts he was erring, he begs His pardon rendering obedience.
Pain! It's blessings or favours if anything at all, the way of the righteous, the gift, the final message of guidance, triumph as Allah is in his remembrance.
Pain despite his choice everything is fair so he believes and trusts, Pain despite provision he praises and chases his ultimate achievement,
Pain in belief with sincerity and determination display great levels of love and satisfaction.

The argument that makes it more likely that the flood at the time of Prophet Nuh (AS) was only a local one is the fact that according to the Holy Qur'an, the flood was the punishment of people who rejected Nuh's message after it was clearly manifested to them. According to the following ayat for instance, those who were drowned by the flood had one common feature, that was, they were warned by Nuh and they denied him:
"but they denied him (Nuh) so we saved him and those with him in the ship and made them viceroys and we drowned those who denied our signs. See then the destiny of those who were warned." Surah Yunus 10:73
Obviously, those people who were living in other places on the face of the Earth had not seen Nuh (AS) and were not warned by him, therefore they couldn't be among the people who were the subject of this ayat. The same conclusion can be drawn by other Surahs of the Qur'an like Hud 11:36, Al-Furqan 25:37, Al-Shu'ara 26:117-118 and Nuh 71:25.
It seems that you didn't take the time to study Arabic in your extensive 'thinking' and research. It is easily possible to interpret the word "Earth" to mean only the area where Nuh's people were living. It is very common in the Arabic language to use the word Al-Ardh (Earth) only to mean a specific area on the Earth rather than the whole globe. For instance, among many, look at the following ayat of the Qur'an:
"And they nearly scared you (i.e. Prophet Muhammad pbuh) from the land (Al-Ardh) in order to drive you forth from it and in this case they wouldn't survive long after you." (Al-Isra 17:76) Obviously the word Al-Ardh in this verse means the land of Makkah, not the whole Earth.
