In Turkey, tens of thousands of people have been protesting in Istanbul in support of the country's secular system. It comes amid a growing political crisis over the future of the presidency. Secularists believe the ruling Islamist-rooted AK Party's candidate, Abdullah Gul, will tamper with the strict separation of state and religion, if he wins, but the Foreign Minister denies that. Waving Turkish flags and anti-government placards, the demonstrators made it clear they want the AK party to abandon its plan to make Gul president. The minister did not get enough votes in the first round of the election in parliament on Friday. A second round is set for Wednesday. The dispute has also put the AK party at odds with the military, which sees itself as the guardian of the secular state and has ousted four governments in the past 50 years. But the main opposition groups, backed by the EU, have warned the military not to meddle in politics. Two weeks ago a similar rally in the capital Ankara attracted an estimated half a million people on to the streets.

Turkey is the only muslim country that realy works.I hear a lot of people talking about the golden ages of the arab nations, but that was when they were ruled by turkey.Even the big arab hero suleyman was kurd. The reason everything was golden was that there was religious freedom, and jews, cristianand muslim lived peacefully together. You can not force people to follow religious rules, only if they want it from the hart it is true,I understand the turkish people as it seems that this president is changing laws so he can stay in power forever(now where do we see that more)What does fighting for there democracy has to do with allah, and why would an ayatollah or religious leader be better?Tell me one islamic country were things are ok,just one

this whole universe & every thing in it,belongs to Allah swt, only rule of Allah swt which is Islam can bring this world in regular order,as we seen in past by those who were chosen by Allah in force that law.secular & Communist & ext ext can't survive no matter what they do or what they have, example former USSR.Allah swt is the most beneficent & merciful so despite with some draw backs,we can still b successful & go to haven but those who r trying to stand against him,r just humiliating them self here & in akirah for ever insh'allah
