Im a revert to Islam and I love the change that has happened in my heart. I really want to meet a nice muslim sister for a serious relationship. I want someone who will read Qu'ran and discuss it with me. I'm a PhD student and a professor at Brooklyn College. I feel that this sometimes my profession is a turn off though to women, because academics are viewed as boring and 'insane'. I'm 24, but am very mature; I have my own apartment and alot of responsibility in my teaching. Its just really lonely. My parents are Christian and live in the midwest. So I cant really talk to them about my feelings. Anyone else in a similar situation?

thats a huge generalization. Maybe women that you have seen, but i like educated men, and men in the education field. I would love to have a professor husband one day inshallah, but i gotta get myself together before i can get married...
its very impressive that ur a professor!!
I wish you all the best!

I also believe that it is very incorrect to believe that your education and proffesion is boring or as you say "tun ff" to other women ..............I believe in my heart there is someone for everyone out there ..........sometimes it might seem that it is impossible to find such a person but truly I am sure you will find someone who has same or similar interests as you inshaallah .......and once you do you will be very happy :)
meanwhile if you need a good friend to chat with I am here for you as well you are welcome to send me a message any time
Good luck and take care of yourself Salam

I think it is incorrect to assume that your profession is a turn off to women. One man's meat may be another man's poison...so i am sure there are those who are very keen to get an insight of what you study or teach.
Looking at the bright side, the female should consider herself fortunate to be able to get free lessons, without having to attend your classes! :D
You gotta be more optimistic brother!

Salams bro. Boring? Insane? I dont think so. I am not in any similar situation as you are, but speaking from a point of view of an individualistic lady, I think what you have achieved is commendable. All the best.
