THERE ARE REASONS, WHY ISLAM............ 46 Views 10/14/06
Assalamualaikum to all Muslims, This blog is just the continuation of my other blogs, why these the reverts / converts embrace Islam, which I extracted from a book........ WHY THEY CHOOSE ISLAM; Comments made by Revert, FATHIMA LIENBERG, If you are a born Muslim but have not been a dutiful one, it is not too late. If you have not started yet, you can start now. Keep your head up high and show the world that you are proud to be a Muslim. Comments made by Revert, MALIK AL-SHABAZZ (MALCOLM X), Islam erases from society the race problem. In the Muslim world, I have met people who in America would have been considered white - but the "white" attitude was removed from their minds by Islam. Comments made by Revert, OUM ABDUL-AZIZ, I feel a sense of respect leaving my house in hijab. My "worth" is no longer determined by my physical appearance. It is my protection from influences which abuse and degrade women. Comments made by Revert, MUHAMMAD ALI (CASSIUS CLAY) Standing in Arafah during Hajj was an exhilarating experience especially to see the concept of equality in Islam in practice. People of different colours, races, heads of state and ordinary men were praying to God, all clad in two simple white sheets. Comments made by Revert, LADY EVELYN ZEINAB COBBOLD, The more I read, the more convinced I became that only Islam can bring peace and happiness. In Islam, we are not born in sin and do not need redemption, and our salvation depends entirely on our actions. Comments made by Revert, KARIMA SLACK RAZI, I realized that Islam gives true equality not only to men and women, but to all races and classes, and individuals are differentiated only on their level of piety. ********************************** Words of Allah in Holy Quran,(49:17); They impress on thee as a favour that they have embraced Islam. Say, "Count not your Islam as a favour upon me: nay, Allah has conferred a favour upon you that He has guided you to the Faith, if ye be true and sincere. ********************************** I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD EXCEPT ALLAH AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS MESSENGER. **********************************

SOME MAJOR SINS. 33 Views 04/20/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. SOME MAJOR SINS. On the authority of Abu Bakarah Nufai Ibn Harith (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May I tell you what the major sins are? (He repeated this three times). We replied: 'Certainly, O Messenger of Allah'. He said: 'Associating others with Allah; disobedience to parents, (he had been resting on a pillow, then he sat up and continued), 'telling lies and giving false testimony (perjury)". He repeated this sentence so many times that we wished he would stop. (Hadith - Bukhari and Muslim)

CHRISTIAN MINISTER CHURCH EMBRACED ISLAM. 17 Views 04/20/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. CHRISTIAN MINISTER OF UNITED METHODISH CHURCH, USA, EMBRACED ISLAM.(JERALD F.DIRKS) STORY BY JERALD F.DIRKS: (I skipped a few paragraphs, the childhood story of Jerald F.Dirks in the Christian family). EXTRACTED FROM RELIABLE ARTICLE: The early life and education of a Harvard Hollis scholar and author of the book "The Cross and the Crescent", disillusioned by Christianity due the information learnt in its School of Theology. By age 17, when I began my freshman year at Harvard College, my decision to enter the ministry had solidified. During my freshman year, I enrolled in a two-semester course in comparative religion, which was taught by Wilfred Cantwell Smith, whose specific area of expertise was Islam. During that course, I gave far less attention to Islam than I did to other religions, such as Hinduism and Buddism, as the latter two seemed so much more esoteric and strange to me. In contrast, Islam appeared to be somewhat similar to my own Christianity. As such, I didn't concentrate on it as much as I probably should have, although I can remember writing a term paper for the course on the concept of revelation in the Quran. Nonetheless, as the course was one of rigorous academic standards and demands, I did acquire a small library of about a half dozen books on Islam, all of which were written by non-Muslims, and all of which were to serve me in good stead 25 years later. I also acquired two different English translations of the meaning of the Quran, which I read at the time. TO BE CONTINUED.........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

EVIDENCE THAT JESUS IS NOT GOD. 105 Views 03/23/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. PLEASE SEE CONTINUATION BELOW ON 7 APRIL 2007. Evidence from Holy Quran that Jesus is a PROPHET. Prophet Muhammad teachings that Jesus is a PROPHET. BELOW ARE THE BIBLICAL EVIDENCE THAT JESUS IS NOT GOD, EXTRACTED FROM RELIABLE SOURCE: THE BIBLE SAYS THAT JESUS IS SUBORDINATE TO GOD: 1 Corinthians 11:3 "Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." *** Since Jesus was subordinate to God, he was NOT God. BIBLE SAYS THAT JESUS' TEACHINGS WERE FROM GOD, NOT JESUS HIMSELF: John 7:16 "So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is NOT mine, but His who sent me." **** Jesus COULD NOT have said this if he was God because the doctrine would have been his. BIBLE SAYS THAT JESUS LIVED BECAUSE OF GOD: John 6:57 "I live because of the Father." **** Jesus CANNOT BE GOD because he depended on God for his own existence. TO BE CONTINUED...........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST. ********************************** CONTINUATION FROM PREVIOUS POST. (7 APRIL 2007) EVIDENCE THAT JESUS IS NOT GOD. BIBLE SAYS THAT JESUS WAS TAUGHT AND COMMANDED BY GOD: John 12:49 (New King James Version): "For I have not spoken on my own authority; but the Father who sent me gave me a command, what I should say and what I should speak." John 15:10 "I have kept my Father's commandments." *** No one can teach God, otherwise God cannot be All-Knowing and would owe His teacher. Since Jesus was taught and commanded by God, Jesus cannot be God himself. The teacher and the student, the commander and the commanded are NOT one. **** Do not betrayed Jesus, he is just a Prophet and Messenger. There is no god, except ALLAH.

PORK - ISLAM AND BIBLE AND MEDICAL SCIENCE. 120 Views 02/17/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. PORK IN ISLAM AND BIBLE AND MEDICAL SCIENCE. Islam clearly forbids the eating of pork. The Bible too prohibits the eating of pork. The prohibition is mentioned in two books: Bible, Leviticus:Chapter 11, Verses 7 and 8. Bible, Deuteronomy:Chapter 14, Verse 8. In Leviticus, the BIBLE says: "And the pig......it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you." (Leviticus, 11: 7-8) Below are comments or written made by MUFTI AFZAL HOOSEN ELIAS: The abstention from eating pork is one of the steps Islam has taken to practice hygiene and to attain purity of human nature. Medical reasons are numerous and after reading them one will realise the WISDOM of the DIVINE LAW OF ISLAM. The pig is lazy, indulgent in sex, dislikes the sun, lacks spirit and determination to fight, lacks self discipline in eating and therefore eats even stool. It is the greatest carrier of germs. Eating pork encourages the revival of old ailments, fosters rheumatism and asthma. It also causes baldness and weakening of the memory. Further proof of the wisdom behind the prohibition of pork is that it is a host to the following worms which themselves are carriers of disease:- *** Trichina worms are found in infected pork which causes Trichinosis infection in the muscles. *** Balantidnii cote found in the pig's bowels causes dysentery. *** Faciolipsi Baski found in the pig's small intestines causes persistent diarrhoea. *** Round worms, i.e. the "travelling worm" causes local infestation, pneumonia, suffocation, jaundice and even brain tumours. *** Hookworm causes anaemia, diarrhoea and a typhoid like disease. *** Paragonimus found in the lung of the pig causes bleeding of the lungs (endemic haemoptysis). *** Clonorchis senensis found in the bile passage of the pig's liver causes clonobhiasis - a peculiar enlargement of the liver accompanied by severe jaundice, diarrhoea and emaciation. *** Giganthoryschus gigas found in the pig's intestines causes anaemia and digestive disorders. *** Mega strongylus apsis found in the pig's lungs causes bronchitis and abscess of the lungs. *** Swine erysipelas found on the skin of pigs causes fever and inflammation of the skin. *** Tubercle bacillus causes tuberculosis. *** Taenia solium (pork tapeworm) found in the eggs of infected pigs causes diarhoea, digestive disorders, anaemia and infected person remains in a state of chronic invalidism. *** Trichinalla spirales found in flesh of pig causes trichiasis or tiichinelliasis i.e. acute abdominal pains, diarrhoea, twitching in various muscles, the face becomes puffy, eyelids swell, patient becomes weak and develops asthma and skin rash. *** Varicella causes smallpox. *** Sarcoptes scabies found in the flesh of the pigs causes scabies. *** Fusiformis causes foot-rot. *** Salmonella suipestifer causes cholera. CHRISTIAN PROFESSOR AND PASTOR BECAME MUSLIM. 50 Views 03/29/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. PLEASE SEE CONTINUATION BELOW ON 1 APRIL 2007. PLEASE SEE CONTINUATION BELOW ON 4 APRIL 2007. SUE WATSON, PROFESSOR, PASTOR, CHURCH PLANTER AND MISSIONARY, NOW IN SAUDI ARABIA. NOW SHE IS A MUSLIM - SISTER KHADIJAH WATSON. Sister Khadijah Watson an eight year student of formal theological studies accepts Islam due to the consistency of its message. Sister Khadijah Watson is presently working as a teacher for women in one of the Da'wah (Invitation to Islam) Centers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Below is Sister Khadijah Watson writings or article extracted from RELIABLE SOURCE: "What happened to you?" This was usually the first reaction I encountered when my former classmates, friends and co-pastors saw me after having embraced Islam. I suppose I couldn't blame them, I was a highly unlikely the person to change religions. Formerly, I was a Professor, PASTOR, church planter and Missionary. If anyone was a radical fundamentalist it was I. I had just graduated with my Master's Degree of Divinity from an elite seminary five months before. It was after that time I met a lady who had worked in Saudi Arabia and had embraced Islam. Of course, I asked her about the treatment of women in Islam. I was shocked at her answer, it wasn't what I expected, so I proceeded to ask other questions relating to God and Muhammad (may God praise him). She informed me that she would take me to the Islamic Centre where they would be better able to answer my questions. TO BE CONTINUED.........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST. ********************************** CONTINUATION FROM PREVIOUS POST. (1 APRIL 2007) CONTINUATION - WRITINGS OR ARTICLE FROM SISTER KHADIJAH WATSON (FORMER CHRISTIAN PASTOR): Being prayed up, meaning asking Jesus for protection against demon spirits, seeing that what we had been taught about Islam is that it is Demonic and Satanic religion. Having taught Evangelism, I was quite shocked at their approach, it was direct and straight forward. No intimidation, no harrassment, no psychological manipulation, no subliminal influence! None of this, "Let's have a Quranic study in your house, like a counter part of the Bible Study. I couldn't believe it! They gave me some books and told me if I had some questions they were available to answer them in the office. That night I read all of the books they gave. It was the first time I had ever read a book about Islam written by a Muslim, we had studied and read books about Islam only written by Christians. The next day I spent three hours at the office asking questions. This went on everyday for a week, by which time I had read twelve books and knew why Muslims are the hardest people in the world to convert to Christianity. Why? Because there is nothing to offer them!! (In Islam) There is a relationship with God, forgiveness of sins, salvation and promise of Eternal Life. TO BE CONTINUED.........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST. ********************************** In the name of Allah. Most Gracious. Most Merciful. CONTINUATION FROM PREVIOUS POST. (4 APRIL 2007) CONTINUATION - WRITINGS OR ARTICLE FROM SISTER KHADIJAH WATSON (FORMER CHRISTIAN PASTOR): Naturally, my first question centered on the deity of God. Who is this God that the Muslims worship? We had been taught as Christians that this is another god, a false god, when, in fact, He is the Omniscient-All Knowing, Omnipotent-All Powerful, and Omnipresent-All Present God - The One and Only without co-partners or co-equal. It is interesting to note that there were bishops during the first three hundreds years of the Church that were teaching as the Muslim believes, that Jesus (may God praise him) was a prophet and teacher!! It was only after the conversion of Emperor Constantine that he was the one to call and introduce the doctrine of the Trinity. He, a convert to Christianity who knew nothing of this religion, introduced a paganistic concept that goes back to Babylonian times. Space, however, does not permit me to go into detail about the subject, but God willing, we will another time. Only, I must point out that the word TRINITY is not found in the Bible in any of its many translation nor it is found in the original Greek or Hebrew languages! TO BE CONTINUED..........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

MUSLIMS MEN MARRY JEWS AND CHRISTIANS. 42 Views 03/25/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. PLEASE SEE CONTINUATION BELOW ON 28 MARCH 2007. MUSLIMS MEN MARRY JEWS AND CHRISTIANS. As we know some countries allow the muslims men to marry the women of Jews and Christians or the People of the Book, especially the western part of the world. Where as some countries DO NOT allowed the muslims men to marry the Jews and Christians, whether some of these countries, the muslims are the minorities or the majorities. I forwarded a question to Islamic Centre, regarding about muslims men marry Jews and Christians or the People of the Book, in some countries. The Islamic Centre or the Muslim scholar gave reply or feedback through my email and something that I would like to share. Below are the reply or feedback from THE MUSLIM SCHOLAR the reasons for some countries which DO NOT allowed such marriages: Dear Sister, It is true that it's mentioned in the Holy Qur'an that Muslim men are allowed to marry women of the Christian and Jewish faith (People of the Book). It was implemented and done by some of the companions back in their days. Things were DIFFERENT back then, as everyone agreed that if marriages of that nature were to happen, that they would live in an environment that was influenced by Islam and follow its principles. Thus, there were no problems with matters pertaining to death, inheritance and the raising of the couples children for example. But nowadays, the context has CLEARLY CHANGED. The Muslim (husband) would have problem in trying to raise his child in an Islamic environment when the wife (Christian/Jew) does not practise the same religion. In fact, the wife might even be able to influence the child to her faith and beliefs. TO BE CONTINUED..........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST. ********************************** In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. CONTINUATION FROM PREVIOUS POST. (28 MARCH 2007) Continuation - Reply from Muslim scholar: One of the main points here is that we do not want to confuse the child, we do not want to have any problems when implementing and applying Islamic values and rules in the marriage. Islam has its own set of rules when it comes to marriage, divorce, child custody and etc. It is then best that all is avoided as we do not wish to see or have conflicts and misunderstandings that will seriously affect the harmony of the family. And just to add on for your personal info, we've had a number of real couples lately asking us whether they are allowed to have inter-faith marriages. So, it is good that you are asking as now there are more people wanting to have such marriages. We see the importance in educating the public community on this particular issue. And we will work on it soon in the near future. Above are the comments and reply through my personal email, from Islamic Centre and Muslim Scholar regarding about the issue and why in some countries such marriages are NOT ALLOWED. Just for sharing. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

UNHAPPY MARRIAGES - DIVORCE AND ADVICE. 195 Views 03/03/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. UNHAPPY MARRIAGES - DIVORCE AND ADVICE. A member personally emailed to me regarding about unhappy marriage, unhappy sexual relationship......., lonely?, no children? and ask about divorce in Islam........... The member does not elaborate the problems..........and I do not ask more, if that is too personal.......... I believe a lot of people may face the same problems, with the same reasons or of different reasonings.......... Since I don't want to disappoint the member, I try to get the answer for the member and SORRY for the delay..........my apology. The comments from the Imam, may not fully answered the problems, but at least could give some guidance and knowledge........... Insya'Allah. May the comments below will at least give some guidance, advice and knowldege to those who face the same problems whether of same or different reasonings...........and also give some guidance and knowledge to ALL..........Insya'Allah. Below are comments from IMAM, extracted from a source: It goes without saying that in Islam it is the duty of the husband and wife to see that they are a source of comfort and tranquality for each other. They should do everything physically, emotinally and spiritually to make each other feel happy and comfortable. They must care for each other. Islam enjoins husbands to deal with their wives with kindness, decency and fairness. Intimacy is a mutual right for both husband and wife. This has been best summed up in the Quranic imperative: "And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness........."(Al-Baqarah:228) Therefore, the husband should not deny himself to his wife and the wife also should not deny herself to her husband. They should do their best to satisfy their marriage partner. A husband who without any genuine reason neglects his wife's needs is as sinful as a wife who neglects her husband's needs without any excuse. We'd like to state that in Islam the marriage of a man and woman is just not just a financial and physical arrangement of living together but a sacred contract, a gift of God, to lead a happy, enjoyable life and continue the lineage. The main goal of marriage in Islam is the realization of tranquility and compassions between the spouses. For the attainment of this supreme goal, Islam defined certain duties and rights for the husband and wife. TO BE CONTINUED...........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

ASTROLOGY AND HOROSCOPES IN ISLAM. 24 Views 03/19/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. ASTROLOGY AND HOROSCOPES IN ISLAM. Below are comments from Imam extracted from a source: The great Saudi Scholar, Ibn 'Uthaymeen, said: "Astrology is a kind of sorcery and fortune-telling. It is forbidden because it is based on illusions, not on concrete facts. There is no relation between the movements of celestial bodies and what place on the Earth." Before the advent of Islam, people would think that the sun and moon might eclipse when a great figure died. During the Prophet's lifetime, it happened that the sun eclipsed on the same day when the Prophet's son Ibrahim died. The people then thought that is had eclipsed because of the Prophet's son's death. On knowing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in the Eclipse Prayer and then delivered them a speech saying: "The sun and moon are but signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because so-and-so died or was born." This hadith indicates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) denied all relation between the movements of the heavenly bodies and events on the Earth. Besides, people who believe in the prophecies of astrologists are easily exposed to a labyrinth of illusions, pessimism and psychological problems. TO BE CONTINUED..........INSYA'ALLAH. MARRIAGE - THE WIFE'S RIGHTS. 90 Views 03/08/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. PLEASE SEE CONTINUATION (BELOW) 14 MARCH 2007. MARRIAGE AND THE WIFE'S RIGHTS. Below are comments made by IMAM, extracted from a source: The main goal of marriage in Islam is the realization of tranquility and compassions between the spouses. For the attainment of this supreme goal, Islam defined certain duties and rights for the husband and wife. The Wife's Rights; The Husband's Obligations: Because the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, have commanded kindness to women, it is the husband's duty to: 1. Consort with his wife in an equitable and kind manner. Allah Almighty says, ".......and consort with them in kindness." (An-Nisa':19) 2. Have responsibility for the full maintenance of the wife, a duty which he must discharge cheerfully, without reproach, injury or condescendence. Allah Almighty says: "Let him who hath abundance spend of his abundance, and he whose provision is measured, let him spend of that which Allah hath given him. Allah asketh naught of any soul save that which He hath given it. Allah will vouchsafe, after hardship, ease.?" (At-Talaq:7) TO BE CONTINUED.........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST. ********************************** In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. CONTINUATION FROM PREVIOUS POST. (14 MARCH 2007) Below comments from Imam: Components of Maintenance: Maintenance entails the wife's incontestable right to lodging, clothing, nourishing and general care and well-being. 1. The wife's residence must be adequate so as to provide her with the reasonable level of privacy, comfort and independence. The welfare of the wife and the stability of the marriage should be the ultimate goal. 2. What is true of the residence is true of clothing, food and general care. The wife has the right to be clothed, fed and cared for by the husband, in accordance with his means and her style of life. These rights are to be exercised without extravagance or miserliness. Non-Materials Rights: A husband is commanded by the Law of God to: 1. Treat his wife with equity. 2. Respect her feelings, and to show her kindness and consideration. 3. Not to show his wife any aversion or to subject her to suspense or uncertainty. 4. Not to keep his wife with the intention of inflicting harm on her or hindering her freedom. 5. Let her demand freedom from the marital bond, if he has no love or sympathy for her. End of comments. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

REVERTS AND NON-MUSLIM PARENTS. 65 Views 02/25/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. REVERTS AND NON-MUSLIM PARENTS. Below are comments made by Imam, which I extracted from article:- Almighty Allah has emphasized that kindness to parents is one of the most important qualities of believers. He says in the Quran: "Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. Allah (swt) says: "And We have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents: in travail upon travail did his mother bear him, and in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command), "Show gratitude to Me and to thy parents: to Me is (thy final) Goal. "But if they strive to make thee join in the worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration) and follow the way of those who turn to Me: in the end the return of you all is to Me, and I will tell you all that ye did." (Luqman: 14 and 15) Kindness to parents is mentioned as a duty of believers several times in the Quran. There are many Hadiths that encourage us to be very kind to our parents. However, such kindness does not require a son or a daughter to obey his or her parents in whatever they may require of him or her. Suppose that a father asks his son to tell lie, give false testimony, or drink or do something forbidden. If the son complies with his father's wish, then he commits a sin that will not be less grave simply because he is carrying out his father's orders. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No creature may be obeyed in what constitutes disobedience to the Creator." That applies even in simple matters. Suppose a father arrives from abroad, having bought a bottle of some expensive alcoholic drink and he asks his son to deliver it to a friend or a neighbour. If his son complies with his wishes and simply take the bottle to the person concerned, he commits a sin, because carrying an intoxicating drink to someone who will drink it is forbidden. The son must refuse to obey his father in such a situation. TO BE CONTINUED.........INSYA'ALLAH. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

THE MIRACLES PERFORMED BY PROPHET JESUS CHRIST. 31 Views 02/10/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. THE MIRACLES PERFORMED BY PROPHET JESUS(NABI ISA). *** According to Islam, many Prophets, including Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa) did perform miracles. *** Prophet Jesus was conceived miraculously (that is without the intervention of a human male). Is it surprising? Prophet Adam was created by Allah without the intervention of male and female.......) *** Muslims believe that Mary(Maryam) knew that she would conceive Prophet Jesus miraculously. The Quran says that God sent Angels to inform Mary of the good news, that she had been especially chosen to conceive Jesus who would later become a great Prophet. Words of Allah in Holy Quran (3:42), "Behold!" the Angels said: 'O Mary God hath chosen thee above the women of all nations." The Angels proceeded: "O Mary! God giveth thee glad tidings of a word from Him: his name will be Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and (of the company of) those nearest to God. He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity." (Quran,3:46) *** In the Quran, it is revealed that Prophet Jesus could: --- Made a bird out of clay. --- Healed those born blind. --- Healed the lepers. --- Gave life to the dead. *** Prophet Jesus a Servant of God and a great Prophet. Words of Allah in Holy Quran (19:29-33), "But she (Mary) pointed to the babe. They said:'How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?' He(the infant Jesus) said: 'I am indeed a Servant of God: He hath given me Revelation and made me a Prophet: and He hath me blessed wheresoever I be. He hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable.'" *** Every miracle Prophet Jesus Christ performed was done with the power of God, not of his own. Jesus Christ himself admitted this in the BIBLE(John 5:30), Jesus said:"I can of my own self DO NOTHING......." ******* Muslims believe that Jesus Christ performed all these miracles to help him in his mission as a PROPHET OF GOD******** ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

IS VALENTINE'S DAY ISLAMIC? 51 Views 01/25/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. As we know there are some Muslims who celebrate Valentine's Day and make it a special day........ IS VALENTINE'S DAY ISLAMIC? Before we answer, its important to know the history of Valentines's Day. THE HISTORY OF VALENTINE'S DAY. To state the history of Valentine's day is quite long.......but I summarised which I extracted from article: **** Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. **** Today the Catholic Church recognizes at least 3 different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. **** One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. **** Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured. **** Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic and most importantly, romantic figure. **** While some believe that Valentine's Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine's death or burial. **** Others claim that the Christian church may have decided to celebrate Valentine's feast day in the middle of February in an effort to 'christianize' celebrations of the pagan Lupercalia festival. **** Lupercalia, which began at the ides of February, February 15, was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus. **** Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St.Valentine's Day around 498 A.D. **** Later, during the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that Feb.14 was the beginning of birds' mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of Feb - Valentine's Day should be a day for romance. **** It is believed that King Henry V hired a writer named John Lydgate to compose a Valentine note to Catherine of Valois. **** By the middle of the eighteenth century, it was common for friends and lovers in all social classes to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes. **** Cupid, the child-like, winged deity often associated with modern Valentine's Day, is the son of Venus, the Roman goddess of love. In Greek mythology, Cupid is known as Aphrodite's son Eros. **** The gift, in a black and gold casket, can still be viewed every Valentine's Day at the Whitefriar Street Church in Dublin, Ireland. After knowing the History of Valentine's Day, is it fine for Muslims to celebrate and make Valentine's Day a special day.........so ask our KNOWLEDGE AND IMAN OR FAITH..........and try TO FOLLOW THE TRUE TEACHING OF ISLAM......... OUR CHOICE OR DESTINY AND QADAR. 23 Views 01/23/07
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. OUR CHOICE OR DESTINY AND QADAR. Below are comments made by Dr Ja'far Skeikh Idris, Professor of Islamic Studies, Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences who states: "The original meaning of the Arabic word qadar is a specified measure or amount whether of quantities or qualities. It has many other usages, which branch out from this core. Almighty Allah says, "We have created everthing by measure(bi-qadar)." (Al-Qamar:49) Allah Almighty knows before creating anything, that He is going to create it and that it shall be of such and such magnitude, quality or nature, etc. He also specifies the time of its coming into being and its passing away, and the place of its occurence. If so, then one who believes in the true God should believe that there are no accidents in nature. If something disaggreable happens to him, he should say "Allah qaddara (ordained) and He did what He willed and not grieve himself by wishing that it had not occured, or worrying why it should occur. If, in contrast, something agreeable happens to him he should not boast of it, but thank Allah for it. In this context, Allah says, "Naught of disaster befalleth in the earth or in yourselves but it is in a Book before We bring it into being. Lo! That is easy for Allah. That ye grieve not for the sake of that which hath escaped you, nor yet exult because of that which hath been given. Allah loveth not all prideful boasters." (Al-Hadid: 22-23) If Allah Almighty predetermines everthing, that includes our so-called free actions, in what way can they be said to be free, and how are we responsible for them? This question occasioned the appearance, at a very early history of Islam, of two extreme theological sects. One of them, called the Qadariyyah, asserted man's free will and responsibility to the extent of denying Allah's foreknowledge, and claiming that Allah knows our free made actions only after we have performed them. The other, called the Jabriyyah, held the opposite view and claimed that there was no difference between motions of inanimate things and our movements in performing so-called free actions, and that when we use intentional language we speak only metaphorically. But there is no need to go to such extremes, since it not difficult to reconcile Divine qadar (predestination) and human responsibility. Allah decided to create man as a free agent, but He knows (and how can He not know!) before creating every man how he is going to use his free will; what, for instance, his reaction would be when a Prophet clarifies Allah's message to him. This foreknowledge and its registering in a 'Book' is called qadar. "But if we are free to use our will a Qadari might say,"We may use it in ways that contradict Allah's will, and in that case we would not be right in claiming that everything is willed or decreed by Allah." The Quran answers this question by reminding us that it was Allah who willed that we shall be of free will. Allah, Most High, says, "Lo! This is an Admonishment, that whosoever will may choose a way unto his Lord. Yet ye will not, unless Allah willeth. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise." (Al-Insan: 29-30) "If so, "a Qadari might say,"He could have prevented us from doing evil." Yes indeed He could. Allah says,"Had Allah willed, He would have brought them all together to the guidance; if thy Lord had willed whoever is in the earth would have believed, all of them, all together." (Yunus: 99) "Had Allah willed, they were not idolaters; and We have not appointed thee a watcher over them neither art thou their guardian." (Al-An'am: 107) But Allah has willed that men shall be free especially in regard to matters of belief and disbelief. Allah Almighty says, "Say: The truth is from your Lord; so let whosoever will believe and let whosoever will disbelieve." (Al-Kahf: 29) But men would not be so free if whenever any of them wills to do evil Allah prevents him from doing it and compels him to do good. "If our actions are willed by Allah," someone might say, "then they are in fact His actions." This objection is based on a confusion that Allah wills what we will in the sense of granting us the will to choose and enabling us to execute that will, ie. He creates all that makes it possible for us to do it. He does not will it in the sense of doing it, otherwise it would be quite in order to say, when we drink or eat or sleep, for instance that Allah performed these actions. Allah creates them, He does not do or perform them. Another objection, based on another confusion, is that if Allah allows us to do evil, then He approves of it and likes it. However, to will something in the sense of allowing a person to do it is one thing; and to approve of his action and commend it, is quite another, NOT everything that Allah wills He likes. He has, as we have just read in the Quran, granted man the choice between belief and disbelief, but He does not, of course, like men to disbelieve (to be thankless). Allah Almighty says, "If you art ungrateful, Allah is independent of you. Yet He approves not ungratefulness in His servants; but if you are grateful, He will approve it in you." (Az-Zumar: 7)" Above are comments made by Dr Ja'far Skeikh Idris, Professor of Islamic Studies, Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences. ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

DIVORCE - CUSTODY OF CHILD. 40 Views 12/31/06
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Below are comments made by Imam about divorce and custody of child in Islam (summarised): It is certain that the mother are entitled to the custody of the child, if the child is below nine years of age. Thereafter, the child may be offered a choice between his parents. The father remains responsible to provide him with his need of food, clothes and housing. If the couple divorced and the child is with the mother, the father is entitled to visit the child or have the child visit him. The same applies to the mother. In Islam there is no denial of access to the child to either parent, unless there is a valid reason determined by the court. There are many considerations that a Muslim judge looks at before giving custody to one of the parents. In all cases, this is a matter that will have to be dealt with in court or through an arbitrator or a mediator. If the mother/father are worried about that is to raise the child as a good muslim is extremely important and the parents should do his/her best to gather all of the evidence along with the best lawyer or witnesses they have to gain custody over the child. The matter could be solved peacefully and without going to court, because courts could be draining to emotions and finaces too. If the couples are not satisfied with the out-of-court settlement and he/she believe the the court system can get them a more favourite settlement, then go ahead with it. But first, try a mediator who really cares about both of the couples and the child and who has the wisdom to end this marriage with minimum harm to both of them. Custody for the children in Islam is given to the mother when the children are very young. This is on the condition that the mother does not marry again. When the child reaches an age when he or she no longer needs to be looked after by the mother, then he or she is given the choice to join either parent until a boy attains puberty or a girl gets married. Above are comments made by Imam (summarised). Wallahu a'lam ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. "When any one of you eats, let him eat with his right hand, and if he drinks, let him drink with his right hand, for the Shaytaan eats with his left hand." (Hadith - Muslim) The teaching of the Prophet: "Mention the name of Allah, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is directly in front of you." (Hadith - Bukhari and Muslim) The Prophet commanded people to lick their fingers and clean their plates, as Jaabir reported that he said: "You do not know where in the food is the blessing." (Hadith - Muslim) Anas said: "When the Messenger of Allah ate, he would lick his three fingers. He said:'If any of you drops a mouthful, let him pick it up, remove the dirt, and eat it, and not leave it for the Shaytaan.' He commanded us to clean our plates and said: 'You do not know in which part of your food is the blessing.'" (Hadith - Muslim) Hadith narrated by Aa'ishah: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Whenever any of you eats, let him mention the name of Allah ta'ala. If he forgets to mention the name of Allah at the beginning, let him say, 'Bismillahi awwalahu wa aakhirahu'."
