Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu sister! Alhamdulillah I am glad for you that you accepted al-Islam. As Brother Talib ul-Islam said, Islam is an easy religion. Allah (SWT) told us that He made it easy for us! The important thing to remember is that fasting is to develop self-restraint, feel for the poor, and to fully appreciate Allah Ta'Ala and His gifts to mankind here on earth from food, drinks and daily comfort. We definitely have to work on our manners also, for the Prophet (SAWS) said, "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink." Anyone who can't resist food and drink deprivation during the fasting day, after exhausting all efforts to do so, can also break his or her fast, providing that they make up the lost day sometime before the next Ramadan month, inshaAllah. If a person can not make up a fasting day after they honestly and sincerely tried, and the next Ramadhan month already came, then Allah (SWT) is the Most Merciful and Oft-Forgiving. When we fast, we can also encourage non-Muslims to follow our regimen in a show of solidarity. Ramadhan is an ideal time to get involved in community projects, inshaAllah, and invite non-Muslims to join. (I heard of one instance in Toronto where they had a 'Fast-A-Thon'. People pledged to fast during the day to raise funds for the a Toronto food bank, then attended an iftar banquet in the evening.) Mixing charity and interfaith cooperation is a wonderful way of encouraging people to learn about Islam during Ramadhan. It would also be an ideal way of lessening your feelings of isolation as a Muslim among non-Muslims, inshaAllah. Of course, Allah knows best, sister, and He will guide you. May you have a blessed Ramadhan, inshaAllah.

well if u wake up for morning pray & they know, then prepare your meal in night & warm it up in the morning,or have nice dinner with family & wakeup just to drink some thing & pray right after without bothering other people,cz food u can live without but without water u can't,as far breaking fast is concern,u have to break it on time cz its for descipline & self control not to starve your self,so u can break with any thing, like i do here, most of the time am on my job or its busy,i just take bite of some thing or just sip of water or keep dates with me & have good meal when i have relaxing time.do not take fasting month as some thing really hard to handle or what u gona cook or what u gona eat cz its more about getting beanifit from allah swt, thinking its your last ramadan.plus at my job some nonmuslim guys & girls like fasting with me,not cz they wanna b muslim but they consider it,excuse 4 losing weight lol,so don't seprate your self from duniya, don't give impression about islam to family & friends, its some kind of abnormal thing u b doing or its some thing real hard, islam is very attractive relegion when u put in front of nonmuslim in form of practicing first, take it easy just like regular pray,in one month if your food is not completely satisfying,u might end up losing 5 to 10 lbs, which is nothing for average body but it make u feel so good after & it feel really great if u maintain it rest of the year.for a muslim first 10 days r for blessing(rahmah),next 10 days r for magfirah & last 10 days r freeing your self from hellfire,so we look into profit point of view & for akirah not just food point of view, beside we will do the same thing if its envolve money in duniya, that we will not even care about our meal,so as muslim we should feel the same, when its come to akirah, some places they surve so many things that people actually end up gaining weight in ramadan & it also effect salah & ibadah in nights.may allah swt give us true understanding & amal insh'alla
