REMEMBERING, REMEMBRANCE: (zikr): When the stste of presence comes into relationship with the Divine Being, whether in its Majesty or its Intimacy. Sacred Law (Shari'at)A code of living based upon the Qur'an and the example (sunnah) of Muhammad whose intention is to restore and safeguard our humanness and the social order. SUFI: A word first used to describe one who understands Essence beyond forms. A word whose root means pure and unadulterated. SUFISM: (tasawwuf) The education of our humanness; the cultivation of divine character. TARIQA: The spiritual path. A Sufi order, an esoteric school with a spiritual lineage. TRUTH: For the human being: the knowledge that I am not seperate from the whole. YEARNING: One of the most valuable attributes of a seeker, which becomes the motivating force of the whole journey of their calling to return to God.
