Asalamu alykum brothers and sisters. I hope you're all in good health and iman insahllah. I just want a bit of help from you all. I have some friends who are non muslims but they're really nice people. i just wanted to know is it Haram to pray for them to become Muslims, i.e. to do Dua in order for Allah to guide them to Islam? Thank You all!!!

My dear Sister, It is well known that our prophet(SAWS)had made dua for Abu Bakar & Abu Jehel, when they were non muslim,so that they can accept Islam, as they were very strong personality of that locality and of that time.Almighty Allah had accepted his dua by Converting Abu Baker(the later Khalifa )to Islam. Then why should u not make dua for your friend. I didn't see any wrong in it.

Dear Brother rwb2000, I have reading your comments in this forum, some of them are not properly showing tolerance and respect to other people's belief. Infact, they're quite rude and abusive forgive me for saying this please. People may have different opinion in this forum but does not mean we can be so harsh when come to a disagreement. Some people may be strickly follow Islam rules and regulations in many ways of life but think about others who have been living in harmony with people who have belief as you, they respect, nice and show tolerance to each other. I have little knowledge about this matter but i believe it's not haram to pray for other people whether they are christian or muslim as we are taught to live in harmony with every creations of ALLAH SWT. Wassalam, Yanti

o yea by the way Basma 2000, logically it is not Haram because our prophets and messengers (peace be upon them) all prayed to Allah to guide the non believers. Hope this helps.

We are not afraid of each other waht are you chatting about? I don't know what to say to you brother but seek the truth. Discover Islam and research about it, read about our trustworthy Prophet May Peace and Blessing be Upon Him. Don't make a cooment and without proving it!!!! Wish you all the best;)

It is not haram to pray for anyone (unless it has been made abundantly clear in shariah not to do so) - But It is Allah who guides. if your friends want to know the truth & are curious enough to search - Allah will (inshallah) guide them. Many of the meccan Arabs who opposed the prophet were "nice" but did not agree with his message because it was alien to them !!!

What kinda religion would prevent people from praying from fellow human being? And why one has to influence others to be like oneself - how about . Do not be fanatic, there are enough Osamas and such terrorists in the world. Be tolerant, accepting of others beliefs as well and belive in co-existance.

Just want to point out for Abd_mumin. Why can we not be friends with non-muslims. You will be the one who would influence them if you are their friend. I have previously heard Muslim guy who was friend with a non-muslim. Guess was...the non-muslim became a believer. So you mentioned that it is not allowed to be friends with non-muslim. Where does it say so???? please provide relevant resource when making this sort of comment. thanks

Assalamu'alaikum, Dear Sis, If you pray for them so they will get guidance from Allah, i think it's ok. Coz i know that if non muslim say salam to us, we won't answer the same way like we answer the salam from muslim people. I wish you good luck for introducing islam and tell them about islam. ^-^ Wassalamu'alaikum

wa aleykum salam, It is not allowed to have friendship with non-muslims. No you cannot make dua for them.Only that Allah may guide them. A muslim joins another muslim thus strengthening their eemaan.yet when among the infidels they become weak in eemaan. The choice is yours.
