Sorry just re read your question, as for the sin part i am not an expert enough to answer that. However I was told recently depending on the subject that it is not so much the thought or intent but the action that acertains the sin. For instance if i got angry and really had the intention of hitting them, however I walked away and didnt hurt them then i have stopped myself from the greater sin??/get it?? i dont know how valid or true this may be though, I hope it helps,Salams, Aaminah

wlkm salam, yes i know exactly what you mean and i am pretty sure that alot of us whther we admit it or not have probably encountered the same. You know there is an old saying dont wish too hard because it may come true. I have learned the hard way not to wish or in our case pray too hard for something because it may not be right for us. I have learned it is better to ask for that which Allah thinks is best and if he doesnt give what we wanted then it obviously was not best for us, Easier in theory I know it is much harder to practice believe me I know, however inshallah if we try this method then Allahs decision will be the best without us even realising as we often dont. We only seem to realise when things go wrong, but how many times did you pray for Allahs decision and then realise he had actually answered went something well.

salam jat yamla, we pray to Allah for what we want-Allah in his infinite wisdom gives us what we need. If Allah answers our prayers he is increasing us in faith, if he delays them he is testing our patience and if he witholds then he has saved something better for us inshallah.
