thinking about converting Religion Forward to friends

Hello all. I am, at this point, a non-Muslim but have been doing some soul searching and considering embracing Islam. I have taken a class and studied about Islam at school and it just makes so much more sense than Christianity. I understand that the first step is to do my shahada, but before I dive into that I would love to have some more input from current muslims. It's just such a hard decision especially considering I come from a very conservative, white family that understands very very little about Islam. Unfortunately all they really know of Islam are people like Osama bin Laden and what he stands for. Can anyone give me any advice?

which Bible version do you have ?
also you mentioned matthew chapter 26;64 ?? ahh you must have misunderstood it so please let me help you what was supposely said according to king james version,,thats the version i have, let us start from matt 26;63 But Jesus kept silent. and the high priest answered and said to him,I put you under oath by the living God;Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!"(26;64) Jesus said to him, it is as you said, (nevertheless,)I say to you, hearafter you will see the "SON OF MAN "sitting at the right hand of the "POWER"and comming on the clouds of heaven, ahhhhhhh you see you didnt understand the full contex of the verse ? Allow me to help you because i love and respect Jesus, and i will help you for the sake of God' according to the verse it is saying 26;64 That is what you claime' however,I say to you hearafter .you will see the "SON OF MAN " meaning(HUMAN BEING)aramaih language is what the language of the time)sitting at the right hand of the Power and comming on the clouds of heaven.(yes Jesus grew up in a jewish neighbourhood it would be better for you to ask a biblical historian thats an atheist or an agnostic so you dont get an biast answer,,)humble yourself, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened up to you,and when you find the truth ? you will be at static,I leave you with some kind and thoughtfull words,All God,s prophets had one thing in common'it written in the !st commandment of Moses " Worship the One God " the One God alone,(monothesis)May God help you understand,,

    Quoting godschild:

I'am very sad to find out that you want to convert to Islam.
If you want to go to Heaven, Jesus IS the ONLY way. Want prove? In Matthew 26:64 it says: Tell us if you are the Son of God. Yes, it is as you say, Jesus replied.
There is no other God but Jesus Christ. Jesus is not a liar.

Isn't Adam the son of God too?

Jesus is not a liar, we can accept that. Jesus is after all one of the prophets. But what about Matthew??? The writings or recollections of a human, can we ascertain there are definitely no mistakes or contradictions? And can we say the penmanship made by a human are the Words of God??

    To sister Rosemarie
Just a personal opinion (not a Fatwa, religious decree), sister.
About converting to Islam and affecting your job as a hairdressor. Doing hairdressing for women is Ok there's nothing wrong with that, since you're a female yourself.
But doing hairdressing for men, you need to take into account the islamic teaching limits when you do that:
i.e regarding touching the man's hair,
try not to teach the man's hair or,
if your job requires you to touch the client's hair, then try using some thin plastic gloves.
Also try to do this man's haircutting
where there is a crowd, ie. not confined to you and the client alone in a closed room.
May God bless you! Take care

Congratulation for your courage that make you come to this position. This obvious that Allah (SWT)has chosen you. Keep Reading and improve your knowledge. And ask your soul what it wants. Do not fear of anything but Allah. This is the most important thing should we always bear on mind. However here is a web site where you can find info regarding people have converted in to Islam in past decades.

May Allah give you and us more strength and knowledge. Amen

    As Salaamu Alaykum,
It's wonderful to hear about the success stories of accepting, or as you say(reverted/converted) to the blessit religion of islaam. I remeber when I first accepted the guidance of Islaam 10yrs ago. I was only 17teen and in my neighborhood the only young muslim. I felt alittle embarrassed some growing up in the urban community where everybody my age was enjoying there youth in sin and illegal amusement. especially, when I first started wearing the islamic attire. But as time went along I began to gain confidence in accepting who I became. Know that Allah testes those whom He loves and has a reward for those who are patient.
Now alhamdulillah, I am able to walk around in a place where everybody is muslim and feel in place to be a muslim striving for Jennah.

I converted (reverted) during the first week of june this year. My family is also christian and I live in eastern kentucky where muslims almost don't exist. I am a senior in high school and live with my family and they sometimes tease me and stuff. The whole area I live in is white christian and is racist. My grandfather has KKK tatoos.
I would definetly advise converting. You will certainly run into problems but keep your trust in ALLAH. Also when you first convert wait until your knowledge and faith become stronger, probably at least 3 or 4 months, before openly becoming muslim to everyone. Don't throw everything on yourself at once or you may start to lose faith.

Please do not put your opinion. You may be wrong. You are not God or Rasul, that you can't be wrong.
If you know any Koran Ayat or hadith about Music, let's share it, please. Do not follow your fore-fathers, or Scholars, they may be wrong, but Allah and Rasul can't be. So don't follow the scholars and mullahs. It is risky. There is no piont of return after you die.

Allah says follow the Koran and Rasul and then one who knows thoroughly and if you do not agree with the scholars then go back to the Koran and Hadith. Allah did not say if you do not follow the scholars you will go to hell. Did He?
The only reason for sending the Koran in Arabic is for us to UNDERSTAND {Koran 12:2]. If the language of Arab had been French, the Koran would be sent in French. So there is no ifs and buts. We must understand it and then we could follow it. Unless we use this Book as a daily guide we can not be God fearing[Koran 2:2], that means we can't be muslim.

Few extremists, so-called muslims created Islam fobia in the western society by committing suicide killing others with them.
Killing one is like killing all, saving one is like saving all[ Koran 5:32]
So they are disobeying Allah. The punishment of ignoring Allah is burning again again [Koran 4:56]
Muhammad[sa] said ---"the one who commits suicide he will be inflicted by that weapon in the heareafter."
Did he ever tell a single lie?
So few muslims think killing some kafeers will take him to heaven. That's why he commits suicide. If he knew that that will take him to hell, he would never ever kill others.
The problem is that almost 90% Muslims follow the Mullahs, Scholars instead of Koran and Hadith. These scholars can be wrong. Can the Koran and hadith be wrong?
According to Rasul[sa] , Allah will not forgive unless the victim forgives. So how can the victim forgives, he is already dead. If you run away with my money, do you think Allah will forgive you unless I forgive? Not in a million years.
Did Rasul ever attacked any Kafeer?
Did he ever tell one to attack kafeers?

Unless you follow Koran and hadith, don't think of going to heaven as you become Kafeer then.
Koran is the Guide for the God-fearing [Koran 2:2]
So if you call yourself a God fearing person then you must use the Koran as a guide in your daily life. There is no ifts and buts.
If you are not a God fearing then you become a kafeer.
Here I did not put my opinion. I just quoted Koran and Hadith. If you follow them you become a muslim, if not you become a kafeer. The choice is yours.
If we would use this sura 2:2, most people on Earth would accept Islam.
