welcome to Islam to you all new brothers and sisters. Iam very happy, that Allah guided you. You are VERY Lucky. Allahu akbar. My advice to you bros and sis's is: compain with practicing muslims, and be a friend with the Masjid, so that you wouldn't feel alone. I know it is so hard to be a practicing Muslim in the west, may Allah save us all from ma'asi and shirk...and may He allways keep us in the right path...ameen ya Rab

AS SALAM ALAIKUM
INSHALLAH BY THE TIME U RECEIVE MY COMMENTS U WILL HAVE BECOME A MUSLIM.AS FOR YOUR FAMILY-CONVINCING THEM WOULD SURELY BE DIFFICULT BUT U MUST KEEP TRYING.I SUGGEST THAT INSTEAD OF QUESTIONING CHRISTIANITY U RATHER CONVINCE THEM OF THE BEAUTY N TRUTHFULLNESS OF ISLAM.TELL THEM ABOUT ISLAM AND WHY ONE SHOULD BE A MUSLIM.GIFT THEM A QURAN.DO DAWAH THE WAY OUR PROPHET DID.HE(PBUH)NEVER HUMILIATED ANY RELIGION BUT VERY BEAUTIFULLY CONVINCED PEOPLE OF THE TRUTHFULNESS OF ISLAM.ONCE THEY START LIKING ISLAM THEN YOU COULD TELL THEM WHY CHRISTIANITY CANNOT BE THE TRUE RELIGION, THAT BIBLE CANNOT BE THE WORD OF GOD BECAUSE OF INNUMERABLE MANIPULATIONS DONE IN IT ETC..
U KNOW WHY I M TELLIN U THIS??COS IF U START OFF BY POINTING DEFECTS IN CHRISTIANITY THEY WOULD INFACT TAKE OBJECTION TO IT INSTEAD OF UNDERSTANDING U.ITS NEVER GOING TO BE EASY TO GIVE UP THE RELIGION ONE HAS SO ARDENTLY FOLLOWED ALL HIS/HER LIFE.
I SUGGEST U READ THIS BOOK FOR COMPARISON BETWEEN BIBLE AND QURAN-'LA BIBLE LE QURAN ET LA SCIENCE' .THE ENGLISH VERSION IS CALLED'THE BIBLE THE QURAN AND THE SCIENCE'.ITS BY MAURICE BUCAILLE.
PRAYING FOR YOUR AND THE ENTIRE MUSLIM COMMUNITY'S WELL BEING
SISTER IN ISLAM.

Asalaamwalaykum,

Thanks to a lot of helpful advice from many people like all of you who have posted on this forum, I have decided to convert. I pronounced my shahadah the other night, and have started performing salat with the help of online tips and note cards. I know I'm far from doing it completely right but InshAllah I will learn quickly. Bottom line is I have never felt more alive and more in touch with Allah and all of his creation than I do right now. If any of you could give me more advice on where to go from here it would be much appreciated.

"The Conditions of "La illah illa-lah"

The complete statement of the creed of the Muslim is: "Ash-shadu anna Laa elaha illa lah. Ash-shadu anna Muhammadar Rasoolulah." (I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger).
Every Muslim has been taught that the key to "Jennah" (Paradise) is the statement in Arabic: "Laa illaha illa lah." (There is none worthy of worship except Allah.) Yet too many Muslims simply rely upon this statement and believe that as long as they have made this statement, nothing will harm them. They think they will be granted Paradise because of this mere verbal statement of the Shahadah.

There is no question that the mere saying of the shahadah: "I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger" is not sufficient for salvation. In fact, the munafiqeen ( hypocrites) used to make this statement quite often yet Allah describes them as liars and says that they shall abide in the lowest abyss of the Hell-fire.

True scholars of Islam are quick to tell us that this testimony of faith is our "Muftah ul Jennah" (Key to Paradise). The famous follower Wahb ibn Munabbih was once asked;
"Isn't the statement of "La ilaha illa-lah" the key to Paradise?"
He answered;
"Yes! But every key has ridges. If you come with the key that has the right ridges, the door will open for you. Yet if you do not have the right ridges the door will not open for you."

Think about it. If you try to drive your car with the key to your house will it work? Of course not. So, we see that the statement like a key, must meet certain conditions in order to work. In fact these conditions are what will determine who will benefit from the statement and who will not benefit from saying it, no matter how many times per d...

SOMETHING FOR THOSE WHO INTEND TO CONVERT. ALLAH WILL GUIDE YOU INSHA-ALLAH!

A Martial Art Led Me to Islam*

By Steven Krauss (Abdul-Lateef Abdullah)
19/07/2004

The Malaysian martial art form called silat.

My experience in Islam began as a graduate student in New York City in 1998. Up to that point in my life, for 25 years, I had been a Protestant Christian, but had not been practicing my religion for quite some time. I was more interested in ?spirituality? and looking for anything that didn?t have to do with organized religion. To me, Christianity was out of touch and not relevant to the times. It was hard for me to find anything in it that I could apply to my everyday life. This disillusion with Christianity led me to shun everything that claimed to be organized religion, due to my assumption that they were all pretty much the same, or at least in terms of their lack of relevance and usefulness.

Much of my frustration with Christianity stemmed from its lack of knowledge and guidance around the nature of God, and the individual?s relationship to Him. To me, the Christian philosophy depends on this rather bizarre intermediary relationship that we are supposed to have with Jesus, who on one hand was a man, but was also divine. For me, this difficult and very vague relationship with our Creator left me searching for something that could provide me with a better understanding of God, and our relationship to Him. Why couldn?t I just pray directly to God? Why did I have to begin and end every prayer with ?in the name of Jesus Christ?? How can an eternal, omnipotent Creator and Sustainer also take the form of a man? Why would He need to? These were just a few of the questions that I could not resolve and come to terms with. Thus, I was hungry for a more straightforward and lucid approach to religion that could provide my life with true guidance, not just dogma that was void of knowledge based in reason.

While in graduate school, I had a ...

ASLAMO ALECUMM to all brothers n sisters.
I have read drummer05, brother I would try to give u a good advise like ur perrents are concidering only one persone as a representative of Islam coz they only know him however,if a persone any one does bad things to others so it doesn't mean that his religone allow or command him to do that kindly tell them try to read our prophet Muhammad(pbuh) he is the man to whome all muslims belong
to. I think its better to try to provide litreture about MUHAMMAD(PBUH) he is rpresentative of Islam our Prophet.
ALLHA will help u to understand Islam InshAllah Allah's guidens makes difficult decitions in a easy one.
have a nice day n wish u all the best.

The reason why you feel Islam makes more sense than Christianity is because Islam is the finished article. It picks up where Jesus PBUH left off. Jesus even said that he has to leave in order for the comforter (Muhammad PBUH) to come.
Also Jesus PBUH left this Earth while only about 33 therefore he did not live a full life and could not show the people how to live full lives. For example he did not get married so He could not show us how to. Whereas Muhammad PBUH did. That is why He is the last in a long line of prophets sent to bring people towards Allah. Because Islam is now a completed Religion that can guide you in every aspect of life. Also the reason why some say that it is a way of life. Hope this helps. Salam my future Brother InshaAllah.
