Henna-
I am happy to see an American Indian Muslimah!! I love my men of African ancestry in USA but I have always wanted an inter-ethnic relationship preferably with an American Indian man. It seems some are not open to this religion. What do you sense?

Assalamu'alaikum,
In my opinion, it's possible marrying into different culture as long as both have same religion in order to lead the same direction. The most important is to understand, be tolerance and ready to learn new thing, either good or bad things of other culture are valuable experiences.
Wassalam,
Nurul

Well marriage requires lots and lots of patience, understanding and at times giving way.

Marrying someone of different culture to me is interesting, coz its a whole new experience. We cant stop learning till we're dead rite?

Genetically it improves the genes pool rather than inter-breeding.

Anyway marriage is already pre-destined by Allah, we do our best to look out for the right person and make the best out of it.

Why think so much abt it? Its not as if we're gonna stay alive forever. So relax, doa and take what comes...

Assalamu aleykum,
dont you think that would be exciting as both know little about each others background so Instead of same culture you know all the things. a nice ayah is in order:
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,
49.13 O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)

To be honest, I dont' see anything too out of style in marrying someone out of my culture, as long as she is musim, and of course as long as some matching criteria is met. Respect...

well you can marry people from different cultures but of course they'd have to be muslim or willing to convert to islam.

that's why you can still go for marrying someone of a different culture.

I would like to comment on marrying another race or culture. I am a native american indian and mexican female who has married a muslim....both sides of the family was not expecting it...however we followed thru with it and was able to make it work! One thing for sure though, do find out before hand about arranged marriages b/c thats what happeded to us. His side of the family...not his father or mothers but like aunt and uncle made the decision to have him have a arranged marriage...they didnt know he was married here in us. So, we had to get divorced and he had to move back home...even though he didnt want to....he did it out of the respect of his family.....

Salam.

Well, my husbands family were very excited to tell you the truth. I think what surprised them the most was that I'm an American but at the same time I'm a muslima and I wear hijab. He told them without them asking.Which is a good thing. My mother-in-law asked me a lot of stuff. How did I meet my husband, how did I know about Egypt. Note: she only knows how to say a few things in English. So he had to translate. My father-in-law. I love the man. He has a great sense of humor. He's a serious person, but he has like a thousand jokes! So talking to them wasn't such a big deal. It maybe scary for some people. That's because I think the other side of the family has to get use to the fact that race isn't everything. Insha'Allah I'll see them soon.

Peace!

ws.

Whoa, I think that's cool. By me being an American, I didn't want to marry an American at all. No ma'am, no sir. I just wanted to learn more, I wanted to know more, I wanted to deal with people who has a universal way of thinking instead of thinking that the whole world suppose to think like us. It doesn't work like that. Alhamdulillah I got that chance. insha'Allah others will too.

Peace!
