please someone increase my understanding if am i wrong in this area?as i would like to increase and teach others.if i am not good for the job i should not comment.

I have been communicting with many ppl,but i am fed up of explaining to them that ther is no such thing as goblins, holymen and magic charms! is this not a culterd thing? is ther not a line of sepration that say this is islam, that is culture? when i was travelling learning from the teachers..i discovered many cultures and things..some were shocking.

I mean who would you pick the beloved prophet(pbuh) or the holy man or your saint? if they follow a holy man etc or a good luck charm to ward of evil..i.e hand of fatima or the evil eye?then does this not mean there Eimaan is weak, if you belive in goblins and ghosts? why have some ppl have a fixed thursday what is the significance of associting it with lots of food? and cant you rember the ppl who rtn to the creator anytime and prayer for them on any other day..why pick thusday? is that culture thing? i know the beloved prophet fasted on mondays&thursdays(but my topic issue is on magic men/lucky charms)

In qur'aan(chapter 3:64) it tells us,warns us not to erect from our selves, lords and PATRONS.

Also in the qur'aan thers is a distate for those who take their ahbarams (relgious leaders) and ruhbanahum (monks and ascetics) as their lords apart from Allah (Surah 9.31).

I remember from school,a teacher making me learn in arbic, two suras, called '"the two takings of refuge"", was told to are recite continually for protection against all manner etc.The angel Gabriel revealed the last two surahs of the Qur'an to the beloved prophet(pbuh), and told him to recite these short chapters to ward off such evil. many of you may learnt it by heart.

In Surah 113.1-5.

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn, from the mischief of created things; from the mischief of Darkness as it overspreads; from the mischief of those who practice Secret Arts: and from the mischief of the envious one as he practices envy.

In Surah 114.1-5.

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind, the Ring (or Ruler) of Mankind, the Got (or Judge) of Mankind, from the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper), (The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind, among Jinns and among Men.

Salaam all,

there are some nice answers from brothers and sister here.

you may already know these, as a reminder I just wanted to add few words,
The Holy Quran needs interpretation (by religious scholar). I believe, talking with a religious scholar will be more beneficial than talking with just anyone with very little knowledge about Islam.

Saytan is our open enemy and saytan promised to lead us towards Hell Fire,
Every time you want to be in the path of Allah, which means you wanna read Quran or Pray or do something good, saytan will be on our way, always, his objective is to misguide us, drive us away from the path of Allah and lead us to HELL FIRE.

Doubt is a very dangerous thing in any Muslims life. This is exactly what saytan want us to be.

Seek refuge in Allah by saying,
"Auzubillahiminas-shaytaneer raajeem"

The fastest and most effective way to increase one's iman (faith) is through sending blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, as our teachers have taught us.
This is the traditional cure for the things which make us feel low in faith, such as confusion, depression, alienation, misguidance, and countless other mental and emotional states.

When you feel doubtful:

Read or say Dorud often times (any Dorud): for example,

"Allahumma Saalliaalaa Muhammad."

someone may do Istegfaar often times.

when u feel impatient, down or angry for any reason keep saying,

. . . often times. and i believe it will help InshAllah].

The evileye is true. We find it alot among ignorant people and greedy people. The people who have deep believing are protected, alhamdulillah.

Selamu alejkum

Dear brother believing that by keeping with you a good luck charm you will be protected be evil eye has nothing to do with Islam. If a Muslim does believe in such things than he is associating partners to God because he believes that someone other than God alone can protect him.
This is paganism and we have to be very careful of such things.
While doing the Zikr ( the suras the the above brother mentioned and other Duas which we are informed from the Prophet alejhi selam)which the Prophet alejhi selam has taught us so that God can protect us from evil eye that is e different thing and that is part of our religion.

As salaamu allaikum my Dear brother it all lies in this a story: Shaitan set out to see who he could beguile amongst the men of deen. He first went to a man of worship. This man prayed and dhikerd all the time was constant in it. He the devil asked him, Can Allah put the whole world in an egg? The man 'thought' about it but couldnt answer the question, so he knew he could trick this person, so he left him.He then went to a man of Knowledge who was sitting around with his companions joking and kidding around an average bro. The Devil asked him can Allah put the whole world in an egg? The man of Knowledge immediately said " When Allah intends a thing he but say's Kun faya kunu, be and it is". So the Devil left him knowing that he could not trick this man. I hope you understand where Im coming from. But I will say that the evileye is alive and well as it was in the days of the prophet PBUH this is one of the reasons we have the two sura's Falaq and Nas.
