sandman2000, i have actually listened to one of a audio tape of shaikh philips, here recently and it was on "Christmas in Islam" and it was pretty interesting. Oh yeah, the thing with my husband....we have yet divorced...maybe things will turn out for the better and we wont get divorced??? dont know, but that is not what i wanted to talk about. I did not know that when you are a muslim woman, you cannot talk to or hang out with muslim men....this i found out from a site...islam-qa com..and my friend told me that once you have learned something you have to follow it. Well, my two friends are muslims...but they are guys ( and they are my husbands best friends)....and they are the ones who are helping me along the way....while my husband is away from the states for awhile...but i just dont understand why would it be that way...if you know your intentions are pure when you are around your friends(even if they are male and your female). This is to anyone i guess actually...not just to sandman2000. i am curious to know if this is right or not? if so...then okay..thats how it is. I would just like to know others opinions on this subject. allah hafiz, henna

Salam Aleikum...

Intellect is very much scarce in this world of UN sanctions!!!

Well sister... good to see that i'm not hated.. hehe! I got some enemies here for coming out openly against some malpractices committed in the name of Islam (like saint and shrine worship). I thought you had maybe sided with them.

I know your an indigenous American whose so much interested in Islam. I'm sad to see that your first encounter with Islam, through your husband ended in divorce. Of Allah's sanctioned laws, he condems divorce the most, as it is the breaking apart of 2 hearts.

Towards Understanding Islam is a pretty good book. Try books by the authors: Harun Yayha, Dr. Bilal Philips, Ahmed Deedat and Dr. Zakir Naik. They are some of the most commendable Islamic authors of our time. Try searching for the IRF (Islamic Research Foundation) online, which will help you procure highly legitimate Islamic material.

Thats all for now sister. May ALLAH reward you for your endeavour to learn Islam and may he grant us all paradise and forgive us for sins as we repent to him... Aameen

Ma'salam.

Salam Aleikum

Intellect is scarce in this world ruled by the likes of a bush... as i always say!!!

Pictures? Hmmm... I have mine posted! lol... But! coming to the point... I dont think its correct to rouse up unwarranted feelings in men by showing off the curves... I think ur picture is fine sister EMNA as only ur face shows... But as always... get it confirmed from authentic Hadith and Qur'an... Find out for yourself, dont rely on the Ulema to misguide you... LOL!!

May ALLAH bless us with heaven and may he forgive our sins when we repent...

Ma'salam

Salam aleikum dear sister...

Hope u and the kids are doing well. i'm wondering why you've put up ur picture on a popular site like this one.

I think u can meet a person whose genuinely interested in maintaining u and ur children(in the presence of someone u trust). Posting ur picture is not only against islam, but would attract unwanted glances. I'm not an 'ultra-conservative' but i value islamic principles very much. It would be in the best interests of your religion to clear the picture.

REMEMBER : Respecting your religion and its principles is not shameful or backward. The non muslims do it no matter how modern they are, so why shouldn't we :)

From the way u are dressed i would say u r an 'ultra-modern'. Thats a new classification of a muslim who believes in not wearing the hijab!!

P.S. If you dont like what i have said... please forgive me.

Ma'salamah. And my regards to ur children.
