Hi,
Hi
I am an Irish student, for my college dissertation I am studying the way the media portray a negative image of the Muslim community. Does anybody watch tv or read papers and think that a false impression of Muslims has been given. I'm really interested in feedback whether negative or postive.
Thanks

Thank you brother (Abd Mumin) for correcting/teaching me. I really appreciate it, cause not only does it help me, but everyone that reads these comments. Jazakallahu khayran brother. We learn something new every day, alhamdoulilah!

Wa assalamu aleykum,
Bismillah,
All praises are to Allah.
I am glad to be able to serve you (and everyone)

Searching knowledge is obligatory for men and women.

In saheeh Bukhari:
volume 4, Book 56, Number 667:

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr(R.A.):

The Prophet (Salallahu aleyhi Wa Sallam)said, "Convey (my teachings) to the people even if it were a single sentence, and tell others the stories of Bani Israel (which have been taught to you), for it is not sinful to do so. And whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, will surely take his place in the (Hell) Fire."

We all have to correct each other for we all make errors including me. Subhan is Allah Exalted. The One Who makes no error.Thats why muslim chant Subhanallah like when amazement strikes them. May Allah bless the Ummah(people) of Muhammad
Allahumme sali ala seyidina Muhammad

I think we cannot blame media alone...we still has to look on people of our community who is considered as reflection of Islam = Peace.. pls come 2 asia u'll find difficult to see Peace in Islam(muslims)...Sometimes I felt like they r finding reasons to fight or kill each other..
"without Peace;wat is ISLAM? n without ISLAM wat is MUSLIM?
clean up our own community....and try 2 bring islam(peace) to world

What is wrong with being an extreem muslim?

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,

Volume 1, Book 2, Number 38:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the nights." (See Fath-ul-Bari, Page 102, Vol 1).

Volume 1, Book 2, Number 41:
Narrated 'Aisha:

Once the Prophet came while a woman was sitting with me. He said, "Who is she?" I replied, "She is so and so," and told him about her (excessive) praying. He said disapprovingly, "Do (good) deeds which is within your capacity (without being overtaxed) as Allah does not get tired (of giving rewards) but (surely) you will get tired and the best deed (act of Worship) in the sight of Allah is that which is done regularly." (saheeh Bukhari)

Volume 1, Book 2, Number 19:

Narrated 'Aisha:

Whenever Allah's Apostle ordered the Muslims to do something, he used to order them deeds which were easy for them to do, (according to their strength endurance). They said, "O Allah's Apostle! We are not like you. Allah has forgiven your past and future sins." So Allah's Apostle became angry and it was apparent on his face. He said, "I am the most Allah fearing, and know Allah better than all of you do."

He says: "God desires ease for you, and desires not hardship" [2: 185]; "Truly with hardship comes ease' [94: 6];
"God will assuredly appoint, after difficulty; easiness" [65: 7]; 'Whoso fears God, God will appoint for him, of His command, easiness" [65: 4];
"We shall speak to him, of our command, easiness" [18: 88];
"God desires to lighten things for you, for the human being has been created weak" [94: 28].

Bismillah,
yes indeed. the Media plays a big part in telling false things about what real Islam is about. Islam = peace. of course there are people who abuse this fine religion.God will punish them in the afterlife for it because they are hypocrites. The media is controlled by the Jews mainly. 90 percent is their hands luckily we have Internet which is uncontrollable therefore some truth can be found. the more the media of people fight against Islam the more people will become Muslim. We as Muslims believe in the Quran and we believe that Allah said in the Quran: [9.32] They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse. what is meant by this verse is that no matter how hard they try to make Muslim look bad Allah will make Islam reach to the top of the world He is the creator,the Master of the universe is He not powerful to do as He wishes?

Unfortunately yes. I live in Denmark (You have probably heard about the cartoons)... Check out who is Moha?mmad Sifaoui - he says that he's muslim, but he spent the last 18 years trying to critisize Islam as much as possible! He's trying to "prove" that an extremist is the same as a terrorist...!! Peaceful people such as Imam Abu Laban and Imam Ahmad Akkari (Denmark) are being seen now by many Danes (non muslims) as being dangerous. What is wrong with being an extreem muslim?

hi
yes of course, because of media ,many of European as well as American have a Muslim phobia. the presence of Muslim is not welcomed in many societies and the picture depicted by TV is substantiated by (for example by the definition of the word Muslim in the new editions dictionaries . even ,you know the pro grammes that pretend to be objective in depicting Muslims tend to emphasis that the codes of Islam are OK but still Muslim behaviors are barbaric .
