I have noticed a trend amongst Muslims. We tend to even within the masjid (astugfirAllah) tend to separate ourselves, because maybe that sisters not Indian or shes not from Africa. Whats the deal with that. Does anyone believe that on the day of Judgment any of that mess is gonna matter?? Is it not enough that division is so prevalent amongst the Kufars that we must imitate them?? SubhanaAllah!!!
well join the club brother!..when i was younger and my mom used to take me back home, ppl wanted to know if i could recite the quran or the first kalma!..man was it embrassing, at that time i just wanted to knock them one, but now i know better....ppl want to see if u have more knowledge than them!..now i teach my kids what ppl really think n tell them to recite what they ask..ppl only want to come across something that u dont know so that they can have one over u..assuming that u would remember that when u go home that someone had more knowledge than u...abit silly though but a gr8 victory for them belive me.
You know, I think people are different in being able to deal with different cultures. I find it exciting to talk to your sisters in masjed who have different culture. And different habbits. Different custums..
Anyway, I beleieve, according to Quran, we are created and we are different; tribes and countries so one know one another.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I often attend a Masjid that is mostly brothers from Africa & some of them act indifferent towards me maybe because I'm born in America. I don't let it bother me though because I have came strictly to worship Allah (SWTA). There was another brother who used to come there to pray with me and he spoke on it to me as well. It kinda had him feeling like he didnt want to return to that Masjid. I had to tell the brother that it is just Shaytan trying to keep him from fulfilling his duties to Allah. Its sad but I know what you are saying.
