wa alaikam salaam sister and wellcome to Islam and may Allah keep you steadfast on Islam and increase your knowledge.
Yes it is sad today too many mussim sacrifice religion over there culture practices.
I know few cases of asian families who would not let there daughters marry someone who was not the same race as them.
but Alhumdulilah i know also people who have married ourside their race and parents and the couple are happy.
sister be patient Insha'Allah you will be blessed with a better and more pious husband.

Aslamo alikom sister ,
I want to remember you what the prophet (pbuh) said "The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allaah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (2396) and Ibn Maajah (4031) .

And Muslim narrated (918) that Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "There is no Muslim who is stricken with a calamity and says what Allaah has enjoined ? 'Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allaah, reward me for my affliction and compensate me with something better' ? but Allaah will compensate him with something better."

so , be patient sister and always remeber ( When Allaah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath )

Salamu Alaikum my sister blueeyes. Don't give up this is just a trial. Just because you beleive my sister don't think that you will not be tested. You are right The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once said, " there are no races in Islam, an Arab is not superior to a non-Arab, nor is a white man superior to a black man. all races return equally before Allah S.W.T."

It says in the Koran: "O Mankind, we created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you in to tribes and nations so that you may know each other (not that you despise each other). Verily, the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is he who is most righteous of you." (Al-Quran, Chapter 49, Verse 13)

Man is imperfect. Some of us live for the dunya, not Allah (SWTA). Pray that Allah ta'ala sends you someone who loves you because he loves Allah ta'ala. Pray that He (ALLAH) increase your Iman & patience.

Salaam.

Salamu alaykum

I am so sorry that you have come across such muslims, sister. But don't you worry sister because Allah knows best and maybe there was no hajr(good)in that person.
Sister not every muslim family sees it the way they have seen it. And Islam is not only for the Arabs, islam is for every nation and every color. The problem is not with islam sister the problem is with the people that when they enter Islam they take their jahilija (ignorance)along with them. Islam is amazing but people are distorting it and they will be held accountable for the way they are presenting islam to the others.

Sister inshallah do not be sad and do not question islam because of the behavior or some ignorant muslims, inshallah there are good practicing muslims as well, and i Pray Allah that you find one! Ameen.

May Allah protect you and may He increase your eman! Ameen

Salaam alkioum everyone, I wrote a blog about my experience but I thought perhaps I could start a topic here. I am 22 a revert from Catholicism. I was suppose to marry a Muslim man that I met after I converted however his family didn't agree to me because I was white. So I waited and prayed Inshallah they would accept me not because of my hair or color but because I feared Allah. In the end they refused and everything was cancelled because didn't want to upset his family. Allah says love for his sake, Muhammad said there is no different Arab or non Arab white or black except in piety. I have found myself questioning Islam now, I mean if this is all we are supposed to love for then why would they not accept me as a Muslim? Does it mean every Muslim family will see me this way? I know not everyone is alike I know there is good and bad everywhere, I am just really full of doubt now. Why has country and color become more important than Allah I don't understand...
